I went to Baie-St-Paul (about an hour drive from Quebec) at the end of march for a family moment. My father and I went out to do some sunrise shots and I could not resist going around the Accalmie. The shooting went quite well, but my feet did not go that well. I forgot my boots at home and only had my Crocs out in the snow for about two hours. Well, even if my toes were like Popsicles, I think it was well worth the pain! This is the first time I use new post processing techniques learned in the more than excellent New Zealand tutorial by Trey Ratcliff of www.stuckincustoms.com . Je suis allé à Baie-St-Paul (à environ une heure de Québec) à la fin du mois de mars. Mon père et moi sommes sortis pour prendre des photos de lever de soleil et je n'ai pu résister à me rendre à l'Accalmie. La séance photo a très bien été, mais mes pieds ne peuvent en dire autant. Comme j'ai oublié mes bottes à Québec, j'ai dû me tourner vers mes Crocs (un peu trop bien aérés). Même si mes orteils ressemblaient à des Popsicles, les photos résultantes en valaient la peine! This is the magnificent St-Lawrence river by night. Actually, the sunset is right behind me (yes, I took many shots of it)! The idea of taking a photo of the tower is from my girlfriend who wanted to have a photo of it. I must say, it was a great idea! Voici le superbe fleuve St-Laurent vu de nuit sur le Quai des Cageux. Au moment de la photo, le soleil se couchait juste derrière moi (et oui, je l'ai aussi pris en photo)! L'idée de la photo de la tour vient de ma blonde qui a eu le flair de la proposer. What a better way to have a good time when being sick than to process old forgotten photos! This one was shot by the end of 2011. It was the last shot sunset series. A good advice I can give you is to always keep your original RAW photos. As software and photographer get better, it is always fun to rework old photos. This old boat is called L'Accalmie and is waiting patiently near Baie-Saint-Paul in Quebec/Canada. There has been an initiative to save it but unfortunately, it did not work. In some years from now, it will be gone forever. Ce vieux bateau s'appelle L'Accalmie. Il est situé à Baie-Saint-Paul. Une initiative pour le sauver a malheureusement échouée et dans quelques années, le bateau aura complètement disparu. This shot was taken at the Quai des Cageux in Quebec City. The sun did just set and the moon is starting to take over. It is quite rare to get both at the same time. Roger Water performed his final concert of 2012 at Les Plaines d'Abraham in Quebec City. This photo shows you the massive opening fireworks at the beginning of the show. The shot was taken from the other side of the St-Lawrence River and shows the beauty of the city along with the amazing fireworks from the concert. This is a night a lot of people will never forget! Isn't it great waking up with this great sky. People on this particular street have this chance but it seems no one was living this moment but me, because there was nobody around. Notice the sun's reflection in the window as well as the shadow of that big tree on the building. Hope you like this shot; and if you do, please share it. Les gens de cette rue sont très chanceux de pouvoir profiter de ce lever de soleil magnifique. Malheureusement pour eux, ils n'étaient pas du rendez-vous car j'étais seul à profiter de ce moment. I just woke up today going to work as usual; the only difference is that I did bring my photo gears to take photos after my day is done. While driving (it was 5h45), I saw this mind blowing sky and I realized I had to change my plans. I went on the Terrasse Dufferin in Quebec City for an hour of shooting and I present you my first processed photo. This was about 5 minutes before the sun went up. I was alone, it was silent and I hope my photo can bring that moment to you. Je me suis levé ce matin pour aller au travail comme à tous les jours; la seule différence est que j'ai apporté mon équipement photo pour aller prendre quelques clichés le soir venu. Sur la route (il était environ 5h45 du matin), j'ai vu ce ciel hallucinant et je devais changer mes plans. J'ai conduit directement vers le centre ville de Québec pour une scéance photo de lever de soleil sur la Terrasse Dufferin. Cette photo se situe environ 5 minutes avant le lever du soleil. J'étais totalement seul, c'était silencieux et j'espère pouvoir vous faire vivre ce moment à travers ma photo.
